Movers + Shakers: Tummy Time 0-6 Months

Bring your baby to this 4 week series where we use play to support infant developmental milestones like rolling, sitting, crawling, and more! Facilitated by pediatric physical therapist Sucheeta Merchant, DPT. For babies 0-6 months old.

Each session will feature activities and play ideas to help support movement and exploration, and simple daily practices to foster secure attachment. We’ll cover:

- What to expect: milestones, timelines

- Thoughtful tummy time and age-appropriate play

- How not to worry

- Recognizing and supporting your baby's unique developmental timeline

This four week series meets on Mondays, 10-11:15.

Sucheeta Merchant

Sucheeta Merchant DPT is a highly experienced Pediatric Physical Therapist with over two decades of clinical expertise, specializing in neonatal care within both NICU and outpatient settings. Currently practicing at Stanford Children’s Hospital, she is recognized for her evidence-based, neuroprotective, and trauma-informed approach to infant care. Her career includes pivotal roles at Kaiser Permanente, where she provided holistic therapy to NICU graduates and children with developmental delays, and Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, where she led initiatives in developmental care, caregiver education, and interdisciplinary collaboration within the NICU. A dedicated mentor and educator, Sucheeta continues to support families and healthcare professionals through her commitment to growth, compassionate care, and the advancement of pediatric physical therapy.
