All About Induction:

Know Your Options, Own Your Birth

Statistics show that 1 in 3 first time birthers in the US will be induced.* This evidence-based workshop is dedicated to demystifying the induction process, and providing the tools you need to understand your options and communicate with your care team so you can make informed choices for you and your baby.

We’ll cover:

  • What is induction, and what does it mean for YOU?

  • Current induction practices and protocols

  • Induction methods and process

  • Comfort techniques and pain management

  • Timeline and what to expect

  • How to communicate with care providers

  • Options and how to advocate for your preferences

  • All your questions!

This class is all about helping you understand how induction works, so you feel equipped to navigate your unique experience within the induction process if that becomes part of your birth.

Taught by local practicing birthworkers with decades of experience supporting families through inductions.

Meet your educators:

Emma Reyes & Anna Mahony

Emma and Anna are birth and postpartum doulas and childbirth educators. We met at a lactation workshop for doulas, and connected over a shared love of gardening, East Bay lunch spots (yay Fava, rip Standard Fare!), and a delicious cup of tea.

Over the years we have supported each other as we guided families through the ins and outs, ups and downs of the induction experience. We’re incredibly passionate about informed consent and gentle, empowered birth experiences so we’re thrilled to bring this workshop to the community.

Together we have over 25 years of experience supporting hundreds of families through birth and everything after.
